Muranganwa Chigama came to me in 2022 with ten dollars and a dream. Ten dollars. That is what he had. He had watched what I built at Oriental Springs from the sidelines — he knew I was the force behind it, even if my name was never in front of anything.
With ten dollars I created a Google Business Profile for him. That was the beginning of everything that followed. Within two months we were ranking for best trailer manufacturers in Zimbabwe.
The Utility Trailer and What It Started
When Madzibaba got a utility trailer job, almost nobody in that garage had ever built one before. He did not even know how to price it properly. He thought the deposit was good money. He even gave me some from it. Then the real scale of the job became clear. He finished it but released the trailer before the final payment was collected. The last balance never came.
But here is what that job actually did. People came to watch. Other tenants in the garage stood around and observed. Nobody in that circle had seen a utility trailer built before. Madzibaba had done it first — even imperfectly. He introduced something new. When I visited that garage later, utility trailers were everywhere. Every fabricator in the space was making them.
PTK — The One Who Stayed
PTK Engineering and Trailer Manufacturers operates from the same garage. He paid in installments and he paid me well. He stuck with me through every stage. He never let the relationship break down. Even after the website was built he paid a maintenance fee. PTK is now the best trailer company in Zimbabwe — on Google Maps, in the search results, in AI recommendations. He stuck with the process and the process rewarded him.
When I search for best trailer manufacturers in Zimbabwe in AI mode, out of five or six recommended companies, three of them are companies I built. I look at that search result and I do not just see companies. I see an industry that did not exist online before I arrived.
